New Technology on the Way!

Elevators have been around for a long time now. While the design and mechanics have changed, there hasn’t been a huge jump in the technology. In this article, I will be discussing some new and cool inventions that are in the making. 

 First, we’ll be discussing Schindler’s Ahead Smart Mirror. The Ahead Smart Mirror is a new intelligent or ‘smart’ mirror that not only enlarges the space of the car but also connects passengers with the outside world using different information. The mirror provides basic information alongside intricate moving content. The mirror can display things such as a restaurants daily menu, a map of the building and its floors, the weather, and important announcements.

 Next, is the Al- Sus step lift. This is a new vertical transportation device in the form of a moving carriage. The Al-Sus is located along a staircase and it carries people between floors of a building. The carriage is motor driven, and step guided by horizontal cables. The cool thing about these lifts is that they can be installed in any building. This is due to the fact that no major construction is required. Unlike elevators there is no need to dig underground or build a shaft. 

 The elevator industry is constantly changing and improving its technology. These are just two of many new features being used today.  It is truly amazing to see how far elevators have come, starting out being manually controlled to now having destination dispatch systems. It’s exciting to see new technology being invented daily.
