Elevator Upgrades and Building Occupancy

One common factor among owners and managers of office and residential buildings with multiple floors is tenant satisfaction. A huge aspect of that is how well your elevator is functioning on a day to day basis.

 Happy Tenants Spread the Word

A tenant would not want to climb multiple flights of stairs in order to get to their apartments or offices due to a broken elevator. For tenants with limited accessibility or a disability, a non- functioning elevator means that they won’t have access to their property. Every property manager knows that having just one elevator down can fill the elevator lobby with frustrated people. Waiting too long to get back upstairs can cause even the best tenants to get mad. In today’s world, tenants will let the world know when/ what they are unhappy about. Having access to social media and review sites makes it very easy for tenants to write bad reviews on a building. Thus, possibly losing more future tenants.

 When should you upgrade?

If your building elevators are experiencing a lot of downtime, have a rough ride or are too slow, it may be time to consider some upgrades. By making simple upgrades, you will see the increase in new prospective leaseholders who are seeking out your property for residence.

Remember, it isn’t possible to make every tenant happy; people will always have their reasons to not like a place. However, keeping all elevators updated and on track will definitely benefit and assure you.
