How to Prepare for Elevator Inspections.
Here are some tips to ensure you don’t fail an inspection
Check out phone connection and alarm bells in elevator:
It is really important for businesses to consistently check that the emergency phone is connected. If they are not working, contact your elevator maintenance company immediately. Not doing so will result in a failed inspection. Doing this will also prevent a serious safety issue in case of elevator entrapments.
Elevator Fire Log:
Make sure that your fire testing log is being tracked and is up to date. The log should be locating in the machine room where an inspector can easily view it. Most times this isn’t the responsibility of the elevator company and will need to be handled by the building owner. If you’re not sure on how to do fire testing, let your elevator company know and they will be glad to help you out.
Elevator Certificates:
Make sure that your elevator certificates are located on the premise at all times! Make sure to keep track of them as they are typically easy to lose. If lost, you will have to wait for your local jurisdiction to mail you new certificates.
Keep these tips in mind in order to help you successfully pass inspection.
